For those who came out last Monday, thanks for coming. And a warm welcome to the new faces we saw there. Just a few quick updates:
Schedule of Events:
I have updated the schedule with the upcoming tournaments/events. Dates are tentative, especially the ones after the winter break. You can view the schedule here:
Membership Fees:
A reminder to those who have not paid their membership fees: Senior membership is $70 per year (or $35 per session), plus $8 for CXR Chess Membership (which is what we use to track ratings). Checks can be made payable to "KINGSTON CHESS CLUB".
Tournament Registration:
The first round of the Jim Cairns Memorial Swiss starts this coming Monday on 17 September. If you're interested in joining, please send me an email at gokun2@gmail.com.
Comments and Suggestions:
We welcome thoughts and comments from all our members. Please share them with us. We have a few open nights where we can perhaps organize other types of events, like maybe a rapid tournament, or a team-based tournament. And we're also thinking about a tournament with a cash prize!
